Did you ever thought, we Indians are so adept in dealing with so many measurements?

Being away from India, invariably bring in the differences between the host country and home. During those discussions, to my amazement, I rediscovered that we have quite an ability.. For eg.

  • We measure the outside temperature in Centigrade but the body temperature in Fahrenheit.
  • We buy cloth in meters and centimeters and the tailor takes his measurements in inches.
  • We write our height in meters and centimeters, but we tell our height in feet and inches.
  • We measure the distances in kilometers but areas are generally measured in acres, square yards and square feet.
  • We tell our weight in kilos and the new borns were used to be measured in pounds and ounces.
isn't it wonderful? As always "Mera Bharath Mahaan.."
